Start your career in Aged or Disability Care.
Complete your Certificate III in Individual Support qualification and work as a support worker in the community, home or residential care. On completion of this course, you will have developed the skills and knowledge to work with people who may require support due to Ageing, Disability or some other reason.
Units included in this qualification include theory and hands on practical training to equip you to provide person-centered support. Included in this course is knowledge about structure and function of human body systems, legal and ethical requirements, safe work practices, communication, individualised support, cultural diversity, empowerment of older people and individual with disability, dementia, personal care, palliative care, community participation, social inclusion, person centred behaviour supports and ongoing skills development using a strength-based approach.
