Belly Dance Trainer

What does your normal day entail?

My Normal Day entails being awakened by our cat, feeding the dozens of wild birds that come to our balcony, bringing husband breakfast in bed (I don’t have breakfast) then walking 2kms to the shops to buy the groceries. I make lunch for my husband (I don’t eat lunch) I then teach one or two classes or have troupe practice and before dinner (which I do eat) do my 4k walk around the park.

What do you love most about your job?

The thing I love most about my job is bringing my students out of themselves, guiding them to shed their inhibitions and learning to accept their individuality. I get a super buzz when they conquer a technique they find challenging!

What do you love doing outside of work?

Outside of work- I love creating- making costumes, organising the garden, reading cookbooks and trying new recipes. Having friends to dinner is a particular delight!

What were you going to be ‘when you grew up’?

When I grew up (although that is a contentious issue as to whether I have achieved this!) all I wanted to be was a ballerina.

What is a totally different job that you would like to try?

A totally different job I would like to try would be to work on a Greenpeace boat. However my husband has stated he would not rescue me from a foreign jail…

What have you studied?

I have studied 12 intensive years of classical ballet from a young age. I Have my diploma of Physical Education from Melbourne Uni. I have a diploma of modelling from the Susan Johnston School and I have my Food Handlers Certificate from Box Hill Tafe. I studied Belly Dance from many different teachers.
