Vacancy – Reconnect Coordinator

Part Time Position (0.8 or 30 hours per week) 

 We are looking for an experienced caseworker to coordinate our Manningham Reconnect program, supporting caseworkers and assisting program participants to overcome barriers and progress in their pathways to education, training and/or employment. Supporting participants from initial assessment through to post-placement support, you will lead the Reconnect team working across both Manningham and Murrundindi, working within one of Melbourne’s leading community-based education providers.

About the role 

  • Lead a small team of caseworkers to deliver on the Reconnect Program KPIs for Manningham and Murrindinidi. 
  • Support clients to develop short and long-term goals (focused on pathways to education, training or employment) and a transition plan into those pathways.  
  • Maintain professionalism and best practice in all aspects of case management, including initial assessments, client meetings, and post placement support services. 
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and confidential records, student support plans and ensure contractual reporting requirements are met.  
  • Build new and expand on existing partnerships and networks with local support agencies. 
  • Support the promotion of the program to local organisations, service providers and the wider community in Manningham.  

 Skills and Experience 

  • Qualifications or equivalent extensive experience relating to Social Work, Welfare or Counselling  
  • Demonstrated ability in engaging people and providing case management particularly with marginalised people.  
  • A strong understanding of barriers that prevent people from engaging and completing education and experience of the flexible education system including further education and employment options.  
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
