COMMUNITY PROGRAMS ADMINISTRATIVE CHANGES – EFFECTIVE TERM 3, 2026
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AT PINES LEARNING
Thank you for your valued participation in our Community Programs. We are pleased to deliver excellent classes led by skilled and supportive trainers, at very low cost. Our student evaluations are a positive measure of our consistently high standards and inform future program planning to meet diverse interests and abilities.
Below is important information regarding changes to program administration commencing Term 3, 2026.
Enrolment Fees
Pines Learning, like most small businesses in Manningham, has been negatively impacted by the current cost-of-living crisis. As a community organisation we work hard to keep our fees as low as possible to remain accessible to everyone in the community.
To avoid the need for a mid-year fee increase across all programs we have instead made the difficult decision to remove our loyalty discounts. We will continue to offer concession prices to eligible participants.
Due to the administrative requirements of managing non-standard enrolments the practice of accepting pro rata enrolments has been amended. Pro rata enrolments will only be offered following commencement of a term (from week 2 onward), and if places are available. Any pro rata enrolments must be for all remaining sessions of the term. (Illustration and Language students enrolled in a full term will be granted pro rata for up to 2 weeks per term, as makeup classes are not an available option).
We will continue to offer free ‘come and try’ sessions for selected new programs and wherever possible will offer free/low-cost options which are supported by our partner organisations.
Makeup Classes
Students are granted the benefit of two makeup classes per enrolment per term, subject to availability and must be pre-booked via Reception. Once a makeup class is booked it cannot be rebooked and will be forfeited in the case of non-attendance, so we recommend they are booked one or two days in advance to minimise the risk of non-attendance. Attending a class without a booking made via Reception is a breach of our Work Health and Safety Policies and will forfeit any remaining makeup classes.
Rollover Enrolments
Participants enrolled in ongoing classes are invited to register their interest for a place in the same class in the following term. Please advise your trainer of your intention to re-enrol. This is your opportunity to request a continued place in our full classes, and while places are not guaranteed we will endeavour to give priority to students who have advised their request for a rollover of their enrolment. Please note that places are not confirmed until payment is received.
Thank you and kind regards,
The Pines Learning Management Team
