From Full-Time Mum to Early Childhood Educator: Joy’s Journey
Joy spent years as a full-time mum, dedicated to raising her two young children. But as they started childcare, she found herself inspired by how much they were learning and how passionate she still felt about her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. That’s when she discovered Pines Learning and enrolled in the Early Childhood Education and Care.
“I applied online in the morning, and by the afternoon they called me,” Joy recalls. The speed and warmth of the response gave Joy immediate confidence that she was in the right place.
It wasn’t an easy start. After a 10-year break from study, she felt uncertain and out of practice. But Pines Learning offered extra support days, approachable trainers and small class sizes that helped her feel seen and supported. “My brain felt asleep at first,” she laughs, “but the encouragement made all the difference.”
While still completing her course, Joy’s placement centre was so impressed that they offered her a job at the end of her studies. “It gave me purpose, improved my mental health, and allowed me to contribute financially. I was doing something just for me and for the children I care for.”
Now working in early childhood education, Joy encourages others – especially mums like her – to take the leap. “If you’re nervous about your language or haven’t studied in years, just go for it. Pines Learning will support you every step of the way.”
Joy’s story is a reminder that it’s never too late to rediscover yourself and that the right environment can help you achieve your goals – no matter how big or small.
