This course can be completed either as a full-day session or as a half-day option.
It is designed for individuals looking to develop new employment skills, as well as those wanting to refresh their knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word at a basic, workplace-ready level. The skills taught are applicable both professionally and for everyday personal use.
Delivered in small, supportive classes over weekday evenings, the course focuses on practical, workplace-based activities. Learners will build their skills and knowledge by using the software in ways that reflect real workplace tasks.
MS Excel topics include:
- Introduction to Excel for the workplace
- Setting up workbooks and spreadsheets
- Basic formulas and functions
- Formatting spreadsheets
- Creating charts
- Importing and exporting data
MS Word topics include:
- Creating and formatting documents
- Working with tables, including tips for splitting and combining tables
- Using tabs effectively
- Mail merge and more
