This course is ideal for individuals who want to enhance their administrative skills for employment, those wanting to update their skills to apply for work, and small to medium-sized business owners who wish to improve their financial record-keeping and reporting.

Over ten weeks you will learn how to use XERO as it would be applied when setting up as business.

Learners will in the first two weeks will cover bookkeeping basics Double Entry accounting, GL Account Balances, Financial Statements, GST Transactions. Then through a case study gain the practical skills required to use the XERO software.

In small supportive classes learners will be guided through setting up/adding a new organisation. Navigating the XERO dashboard.

How to set up a chart of accounts and opening balances, adding contacts, establishing and tracking your inventory, managing invoicing, performing reconciliations, creating reports in XERO and the management of GST in XERO. You will also learn purchasing and selling transactions and generate financial reports. By the end, you will have gained the skills needed to use XERO for accounting and financial management for business.

Pre-requisites: Basic computer skills and English for everyday life.
